Letter From the Early History of the |
|
From its
beginnings in Molise, the Castrilli family is now present in at least
three continents. From its
early beginnings as a military family, it became largely a family that
worked the land. In its
history, there are notable examples of landowners, businessmen and
politicians but it is its most recent generations that have branched out
in all trades and professions. They
are now teachers, lawyers, executives, developers, owners of small
businesses, politicians, artists, academics, and sporting personalities.
The youngest amongst us are studying sciences, commerce, economics,
political science, computer technology and so many other fields. The history of our family, whether in Molise or abroad has always been one of hard work, courage and determination to get ahead. We are indebted to past generations for the foundation they have laid for us and we look forward to the greater achievements of our children. This
brief work has been prepared to coincide with the first reunion of the
Castrilli of North America on Saturday, June 25, 2000 in London, Ontario,
Canada at the farm of Mary and Nick Castrilli. There are only two lasting bequests we can give to our children – One is roots; the other, wings Author
